TikTok Verification Request

Verified accounts are for notable people, institutions and enterprises that could be impersonated - allowing users to distinguish which are the official accounts.

TikTok now lets users request verification in-app by following a 3-step process:

  • Meet basic requirements

  • Enter account details

  • Show notability

The verification request can be made via Menu > Settings and privacy > Manage account > Verification.

Edit Auto-Generated Captions on TikTok

TikTok allows users to edit their auto-generated captions once content has been published to ensure accuracy.

New YouTube Tools

YouTube has announced a few tool updates for its Community Posts feature.

Firstly, they’re expanding their new visual editing process for image-based posts.

Secondly, they’re also launching quizzes on their Community Posts to encourage more direct viewer engagement and interaction.

Pinterest Adds Support for More Languages

As part of their international expansion plan, Pinterest has announced they’re adding support for Afrikaans, Croatian and Bulgarian language Pins. This is because, even though the US is the country that generates the most income from the app, the majority of users come from outside the US.

Twitter Blue Relaunch Delayed

Elon Musk has announced that Twitter will hold off relaunching Twitter blue until there is enough high confidence that it will stop impersonation. It’s also looking like they’ll use different colours for organisations and individuals.
